MULTIFONO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The MMS software is designed to run on Personal Computers without requiring any special
hardware or third party software. It provides a distributed environment where multiple users
co‐operate to supervise and manage the MULTIFONO system: it is only required they are
connected via an Ethernet LAN.
All computers are connected to the same LAN that is also used to interface MMPU logical or
physical devices acting as gateways between MMS and the MULTIFONO internal network.
MULTIFONO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
All elements in the MMS system are dealt with as objects that may contain other objects.
Objects in the system may be seen as a tree (see picture) where the managed system is
subdivided into subsystems which contain racks that are made of drawers housing
boards that in turn may contain terminations.
Objects are characterised by their own attributes and properties that define their
behaviour and the system resources they utilise. Attributes and properties can be modified
by the user
MULTIFONO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
All MMS installed files are contained in two main folders under the C: disk root:
C:\MULTIFONO
C:\MULTIDATA
The MULTIFONO folder contains application executable and auxiliary files that are needed
by the MMS platform, while the MULTIDATA folder contains user data (system description,
databases, configuration files, et cetera). .
