WORK METHOD STATEMENT Task Description: Trial Pitting of Tailings Material at Galmoy Four trial pits to collect ca. 50 kg of sample of tailings from each locations. Samples will be taken from Cell 2 of the Galmoy TMF. The approximate locations are shown as green dots in the figure below. The locations have been chosen to ensure that sampling does not take place over the downstream slope of the wall to ensure there is no risk of puncturing the liner on the wall. The trial pits will extend to a maximum depth of 4 m and as such will terminate a number of metres above the lining system. Samples will be taken with an excavator by Mickael Murphy (or one of his operators). Sampling will be completed in line with Golder’s Method Statement (MS) for Trial Pitting (attached). All tailings extracted will be bagged by Golder personnel and removed from site for test work. All trial pits holes will be reinstated with the stripped overburden material so that the section of cap is fully restored and made good. In addition to this WMS and the MS, a daily risk assessment will be completed prior to any works (JSEA or job safety environmental analysis) which will assess the site conditions prior commencement of daily operations and will allow for any amendments to the trial pitting program if required. All personnel to maintain at least a 2 m distance at all times and to ensure each individual has hand-sanitiser on their person. Prior to Fieldwork Hazards Initial Risk C COVID-19 Exposure L Risk Control Measures RR Residual Risk C Where fieldwork at a client site is essential and alternatives are not possible, the project manager shall select the smallest team possible and seek approval through the ARM. The project manager shall verify that the following considerations have been applied and they are satisfied that controls will be in place for the duration of the on-site scope of work. Review Client COVID 19 site visit policy and protective measures and confirm they are appropriate to protect Golder staff while at site. Advise the Client of Golder COVID-19 processes and controls. Confirm field staff (including subcontractors) will self-monitor for COVID-19 and agree process if symptoms are identified. Request the client assist in enforcing a 2 m social distance between Golder staff and other site occupants. Advise Golder’s subcontractor of our COVID-19 processes and controls. Confirm site facilities are adequate to comply with personal and group hygiene requirements. Site travel arrangements to include how future travel restrictions may impact employee's return from site. Field staff should be provided with an adequate supply of a liquid soap, sanitizer gel, sanitizing wipes, disposal gloves, etc. for the full duration of the journey and field work period. Guidance on managing health hazards must be incorporated into the project HSSE planning (HaSEP/WMS), including notification to supervisor if not feeling well, are coughing or having difficulty breathing. Establish a check-in process to check fitness for duty of the field staff and provide support. L RR Responsibility WORK METHOD STATEMENT # Task Steps Hazards 4. Travel and Vehicles COVID-19 Exposure Initial Risk C L Risk Control Measures RR C ALL business travel requires the approval of a regional manager or business unit leader. Field personnel should avoid public transit and either use Golder vehicles, a rental vehicle, or their own personal vehicles as dictated by site, route conditions and client requirements. 5. On-Site COVID-19 Exposure Residual Risk Before using a shared or rental vehicle wipe down steering wheels, arm rests, dashboard, handles etc. with disinfecting cleaning wipes. When more than one employee is sharing a vehicle, consider having the passenger sit in the opposite back seat to increase the distance. Discuss options where people can work alone (where appropriate e.g. ground water work). Discuss options for taking more than one vehicle. Site work shall be undertaken maintaining basic social distancing guidelines and basic health care precautions. Review the layout of the proposed work area considering the number of bystanders/other workers that may be present and consider whether the controls are sufficient to maintain social distance. Where other workers or members of the public may be present in the general work area, provide barricades and signage (e.g. “PLEASE MAINTAIN A 2 METRE SEPARATION DISTANCE”) to physically separate the work area. Avoid sharing equipment with other people (notebooks, pens, etc.). Use soapy water or alcohol based wipes to clean shared equipment (e.g., clip board, pen, cell phone, field meters, handles of coolers, radio), noting that Lysol and Chlorox wipes may damage some materials (like rubber, clear screens on phones).
