Hydrating Body Butter In contrast to store-bought lotions, body butter is prepared with a blend of natural chemicals that can rehydrate dry, sensitive skin. Having hydrated skin is essential, and using body butter in our body's skin care regimen can help prevent dry and flaky skin. Body butter’s main ingredients and its purpose: ● Shea butter- is the main ingredient for moisture and hydration. ● Coconut oil- while is also a moisturizer it is also proven to have antimicrobial properties. ● Jojoba oil- is an oil that is most similar to what our bodies create, which improves our skin's absorption of the body butter. ● Essential oil- is optional, but certain oils—lavender, for instance, has antifungal qualities that help soothe sensitive skin, making it ideal for eczema. Goals: The objective behind creating this body butter was to create a natural, affordable, and hydrating product that would be safe for even the most sensitive skin. Directions: Use the body butter right after a shower, when the body’s pores are open and massage the body butter into the skin until all the product is absorbed and no longer has a residue.
