Sometimes, we call them word classes. Anyway, your ability to use the words that you know, in real life situations is required in answering this question. Usually, conversations from day to day life situations are taken in this test to assess your knowledge in vocabulary. To make this test very easy and encouraging for you, the examiners have provided you with picture clues. Therefore, you can study the pictures and select the correct words to be filled in the blanks. In this example, all words that you have to select are nouns, but it doesn't mean you will always get only nouns to be selected to fill in the blanks under this test at the examination. Therefore, you have to study words and their classes or parts of speech when you study new words. At this point it's very important to remember that a particular word can belong to several word classes according to the context or situation that is used. It means a noun in a certain sentence can be a verb in another sentence. For example when you say, I read a book, the word 'book' is a noun. On the other hand, when someone says. "I want to book a ticket to Colombo", in that sentence, the word 'book' is a verb that gives the meaning 'reserve'. Look at the pictures.
