A superhero is a morally righteous hero in a fictional work who possessses extraordinary abilities or
supernatural powersand uses them to fight evil,as in comic and movies.Superheroes have always been a
symbol of hope and inspiration in popular culture. From the early days of comic books to the big
screen, we have seen these characters evolve and grow in different ways also how the genre itself. To
showcase the evolution of a superhero,two films were studies.The two iconic movies are The black
panther and spiderman.
In the original comic version of Spider-Man, we are introduced to Peter Parker, secondary school
student who gains superhuman abilities after being bitten by a radioactive spider. Throughout the comic
series, we see Peter battle with the obligations that accompany being a superhero. He must balance his
personal life with his duties as Spider-Man, all while facing various enemies who threaten the safety of
New York City
In Spider-Man 1 released in 2002 by Sam Raimi. The well-known tale of Peter Parker,the movie
follows Peter's development as he chooses to become a superhero and adjusts to his new abilities. The
sequence in which Peter demonstrates his web-slinging abilities to the audience demonstrates his
exploration and understanding of his new talents.
Peter's maturation continues throughout the film, as he learns to use his abilities properly and save
lives. The death of his Uncle Ben teaches him the value of responsibility and marks a watershed event
in his path. Flashbacks to Uncle Ben's death scene underscore its relevance and impact on Peter. This
sequence not only gives the spectator with emotional depth, but it also depicts Peter's character
development.
Black Panther, on the other hand, narrates the tale of T'Challa, who ascends to the throne of Wakanda, a
secretive and developed African nation. T'Challa's .The movie showcases T'Challa's internal conflict,as
he struggles to balance his beliefs and new responsibilities as king. The stunning Wakandan culture and
advanced technology are displayed in the opening sequence, which also sets the mood for T'Challa's
adventure.
T'Challa's evolution as a character is explored in various cinematic aspects throughout the movie.
The fight scene between T'Challa and M'Baku gives insight into T'Challa's willingness to listen to
others, even if they differ from his beliefs.This helped shape his character as a diplomat and a good
leader.Furthermore, T'Challa's relationship with his father and the impact of his father's past mistakes
on T'Challa's journey are explored through the use of flashbacks, emphasizing the emotional depth of
the character.
Intertextuality is an important aspect of Spider-Man 1. The scene where Peter writes his award-winning
essay for the Bugle newspaper is a reference to the original Spider-Man comics.
