The

There are five plot elements in a story.
Climax:
Rising Action:
• the main parts of the
story which includes
the problem
• Usually set up as
3 – 4 main
events
Exposition:
• occurs at the beginning
• introduces the main
character, setting, and
basic situation needed
to understand the story
• the turning point of the
story
• usually the most
exciting or surprising
part of the story
Falling Action:
• the events that
follow the climax
• leads to the
resolution
Resolution:
• the end of the
story where all
the loose ends
are tied up
