Searching the Scriptures Theme Text: Acts 17:10-15 INTRODUCTION “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ” St. Jerome. The scriptures contain God’s word thus searching the scriptures is fruitful way of discovering God and knowing HIM intimately. It is worthy to note that the scribe who demonstrated knowledge of the scriptures in Mark 12:32 was considered as one who is not far from the kingdom of God. Indeed, there is a great reward in knowing what is contained in the Scriptures for it is through the scriptures that we discover and shape our own identity and purpose as heirs of HIS glorious kingdom. Knowledge of our identity and purpose as contained in the scriptures equips for intimate walk with God and a glorious life. In today’s discussion we shall consider what scripture entails and how we can savour the riches in it.
