PRODUCT SUMMARY
PRINCIPLE-The speed of ultrasonic wave through a gas is a function of its effective
molecular weight and the temperature of the gas. If the gas consists of only two
variable components, nitrogen and oxygen, the oxygen concentration is a function of
the effective molecular weight and the molecular weight of oxygen and nitrogen.
Accordingly, the oxygen concentration of the gas can be calculated by measuring the
temperature and propagation delay of the ultrasonic wave across the two transducers
while the gas passes between the transducers.
USOM-100 module uses advanced digital signal processing and ultrasonic technology
to accurately measure the transmission speed of sound wave in the gas mixture, so it
can accurately calculate the gas concentration. The module uses diffusion
measurement, thus the flow change has little effect on the measurement. Digital
signal output is adapted to microcontroller applications.

SERIAL INTERFACE
USOM-100 module uses serial interface to receive commands and transmit data,
which is ideal for microcontroller applications. User can send the following
command via the serial interface to the module, and the concentration can be
read from the receive data.
Send command:
0x55 0xAA 0x7E 0x02 0x4F 0x43 0x94 0x0E 0x0D
Return data format:
0x55 0xAA 0x7E 0x04 0x4F 0x43 MSB LSB SUM XOR 0x0D
Return data consist of 11 bytes, of which 7, 8-byte is value for the concentration, it is
10 times of its real value in %. The 9, 10-bytes are SUM and XOR values from 4
to 8 byte. For example, the return data is

0x03B4=948, then the concentration is 94.8%
