Charlotte Corday is known as the murderer of the Jean-Paul Marat case. She killed Jean-Paul Marat because she thought he was making the French Revolution too violent and chaotic. It was hard to decide if she was a hero or a villain. Jean-Paul Marat still contributed to the French Revolution but he often called for revolutionary violence against perceived enemies of the people. His action is considered as radicalism and violence so it’s reasonable for her to kill a person like that, it is not some reason like murder and robbery. Moreover, her actions were perceived as an attempt to stop further bloodshed and put an end to the Reign of Terror, which killed countless lives. From that, we can see as the effect of radicalism. Lastly, Corday’s action released people from the control of the French Revolution, helping people to have their rights and freedoms. But if we resolved it according to policies then it is an illegal action which needs to be punished. However, Jean-Paul Marat is still the French Revolution Journalist, politicians, physician, he still contributed some of the parts for the French Revolution so it’s also wrong for her to kill him though. It can be said that she committed a chaotic act by deciding to handle things herself rather than using diplomatic means or following the law, like Jean Paul Marat is a gorvernmet people so it will be considered as an act against the government. But, if we use nowadays punishment rules, she will get cruxification or if less, prison. In brief, it will be hard to consider Charlotte Corday as a hero or a villain because of the following reasons that I have listed.
