How Does Technology Affect Families?
Many people believe that technology plays a vital role in peoples lives. Some people believe
that devices reduces time spent with a family, but many others disagree and this controversy
and debate has been going on for years. In advanced societies people are more likely to use
gadgets, game consoles, computers and DVDS in cars and other vehicles.
One fact you should know is that people in China use technology the most around the world
with a rate of 911.92 million. Our data shows that mobile device use cuts across all
aspects of family time. We found that children and parents both spent approximately
the same amount of time (around 90 minutes – 2 hours) using mobile devices when
together. Opinions of parents state that devices do affect times spent with families,
some suggest playing shooting games make children aggressive and spend less time
as a family with relatives. Parents think that the right age for a child to have a phone is
12 or 13 because they are mature enough to know what to do and how much time to
spend on a device.
Now I will state my opinion and my parents opinion about these devices. My Opinion:
kids do not need device like a smart phone under the age of 9, parents can buy a child
a tablet or iPad as you can track your children and since the device is bigger, there is
less chance a child losses it. Googles Opinion: If you want to buy your child a phone a
good choice is a Nokia brick phone. I predict after few years the time spent on devices
will drastically increase, I predict devices will be used 25% more than we do in 2022 as
a child in grade 7. A way to make your child learn how to avoid using devices as much
is to hide the device and then give it to them when they stop asking for it.
A fact is Steve Jobs did not give his children any apple devices. Using a cell phone for
work purposes during family time can increase distress and strain on a family.
While using their cell phones, parents talk to their kids less, respond more slowly, and
overreact to being interrupted. People who were more dependent on
their smartphones reported being less certain about their partnerships. People who felt
that their partners were overly dependent on their devices said they were less satisfied
in their relationship. In other words, people get jealous of their partner's smartphone.
What phones do to families?

This boy got so aggressive the parents had to send him to Rehab, but the boy has also shot his
father in the leg with a rifle before.
So this concludes some people believe that devices reduces time spent with a family, but many
others disagree and this controversy and debate has been going on for years. Less time will be
spent on devices, but can help us in education. So I now know that devices do affect families
and me and my friends goals is to spend less time on devices.
