Holiday Policy
Buckeye State Credit Union recognizes ten (10) days during the year as paid holidays for its
employees. Those holidays are: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents’ Day,
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving
Day, and Christmas Day.
Guidelines:




To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must work (or be on approved vacation or
leave in active pay status) the last scheduled day immediately before the holiday and the
first scheduled day immediately after it.
Full-time employee will receive the regular rate of pay for each holiday and part-time
employees will receive pay for their regularly scheduled hours for days on which they
would have otherwise been scheduled up to a maximum of 8 hours.
When the actual holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday will be the recognized
holiday. A float holiday may be used in lieu of the Saturday Holiday if directed by
management. When the actual holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be
the recognized holiday.
Holiday pay is not to be considered hours worked in the computation of overtime.
