Cybersecurity is an approach to protect computers, networks, electronic devices,systems, programs or data in order to keep it safe from cyber attacks. Cyber safety basically refers to the use of the internet and keeping information safe and secure. What to consider when on the web Identity protection You should be extremely careful with your identity while online. Privacy This refers to the privacy of users and their data on the internet. If your password is revealed the user can get breached. Confidentiality of information Shalom I. This means that information should stay off the record. Meaning they should be kept a secret. Proper usage of password Always use a strong password to secure your account online. Cyberstalking General Overview Cyberstalking is the act of threatening, harassing, embarrassing, teasing or abusing a person through the internet. It can also be refered to as internet stalking, estalking or online stalking. Protection against cyberstalking Change your passwords regularly Do not respond to flaming messages or get provoked online. Check your privacy and security settings Ensure your devices have updated anti-spyware software installed. Do not share your personal information on public spaces like chat rooms Heaven D. Report it. Don't be a victim, talk to your parent, teachers, or guardians about it. If you are being cyberbullied: Keep evidence To do this you should save the messages for proof. Block all communication Isaac C. Immediately cut all communication lines with the cyberstalkers. Steer clear from malware Vanessa G. Malware or malious software is a term used for any program created to inflitrate and harm a computer without the user's consent. They come in different forms like computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses and spyware. It can slow doen the computer and even network and do other destructive things. One of the best precautions against malware is to run an antivirus program at least once a week or every time you go on the web.
