Summer Project Programme - 2024
at School of Physical Sciences, NISER
School of Physical Sciences (SPS) of NISER offers a vibrant summer project programme in which
participants take up various state-of-art research projects under supervision of our faculties. This
is a two months long programme conducted usually between the months of May to July. Apart
from regular project work, participants also get an opportunity to participate in various activities
organized by SPS, such as seminars on current research work in various fields, visit to different
research laboratories of NISER, night sky observation etc. Interested students from all over India
are encouraged to apply for the programme.
Who can apply: Students pursuing B.Sc /MSc /Integrated MSc degree with Physics as a major
subject.
How to apply:
Interested students have to fill up a google application form and provide all the desired information
there. Details about the diverse research activities of SPS can be found in the
link: https://oldsite.niser.ac.in/sps/. The recommendations from the two referees mentioned by the
students in the google form should be sent by email directly to summerproject_sps@niser.ac.in
on or before 21st April 2024.
Apply ONLINE
Stipend: Limited number of students, who are not funded by any agency for a summer project,
will be provided with a stipend of ₹5,000/- per month and a sleeper class railway fare/bus fare.
The financial support will be transferred to their bank account after successful completion of the
internship.
Accommodation: Accommodation facility is limited, subject to availability. It will be chargeable
(₹20/- per day) with a refundable caution money deposit of ₹2,000/-.

List of shortlisted candidates will be uploaded in SPS, NISER website
(https://oldsite.niser.ac.in/sps/) tentatively by 2nd week of May 2024. Decision of the institute will
be final and binding on all candidates regarding this programme and no correspondences will be
entertained in this regard.
