INTRODUCTION:
The culinary traditions of Maharashtra have developed over a long period of time, mirroring
the region's cultural, geographical, and historical influences. The ancient cooking methods of
the Marathi people of Maharashtra, India, are the source of Maharashtrian cuisine.
AIMS:
 Heritage preservation: To investigate how the traditional Maharashtrian food and its
historical origins, emphasising the preservation of customs, culinary methods, and
cultural importance.
 Adaptation to current tastes: To investigate how traditional Maharashtrian food has
not changed and developed to fit modern nutritional requirements, lifestyle shifts,
and tastes.
 Fusion and innovation: To investigate fusion food trends and creative methods for
bringing Maharashtrian cuisine into contemporary cooking techniques, both
domestically in Maharashtra and Globally.
 Culinary Tourism and Globalisation: This study aims to evaluate Maharashtrian
cuisine's potential as a cultural asset for culinary tourism and examine its place in the
global culinary scene, taking into account the opportunities and difficulties brought
about by cross-cultural interaction and globalisation.
 Sustainability and Health: To investigate strategies to promote healthier substitutes
that are in line with contemporary dietary trends and environmental concerns, as well
as to assess the sustainability of products and cooking methods in Maharashtrian
cuisine.
OBJECTIVES:
 Preserving and Promoting the Cultural Heritage of Maharashtrian Cuisine: To protect
and advance the culinary traditions of Maharashtrian culture, collect and record
traditional recipes, cooking methods, and culinary practices.
 Examining Fusion and Innovation: To examine how Maharashtrian food is used in
current times, including how it has been merged with different culinary traditions
and how creative methods have been used to modify traditional recipes to suit
dietary requirements and tastes.
 Evaluating Sustainability and Health Consequences: In order to promote ecologically
and health-consciously friendly alternatives, assess the sustainability of the

ingredients used in Maharashtrian cuisine as well as the health consequences of
traditional cooking techniques.
Future Trends and problems: In order to see chances for innovation and adaptation
while maintaining cultural authenticity, it is important to anticipate future trends and
problems that Maharashtrian cuisine may face, such as globalisation, shifting
consumer tastes, and environmental concerns.
The above research is done to promote the traditional Maharashtrian
cuisine and how the food is cooked with the help of traditional
cooking techniques with the help of documentations and recipes. This
research also brings a light on the Cuisine as it is currently an
underexplored cuisine. This research also exposes the diverse variety
of foods as we explore different regions of Maharashtra, India. As we
know that India is a house of diverse religion and culture this
research helps to know how the food holds a religious importance
in the country. Promoting healthier choices cooking techniques.
This study also shows the difficulties and obstacle that the cuisine
might have deal with in order to keep up with the current modern
trend of the current generation globally. This information will be
helpful to those who are involved in the food sector. The goal of this
study is to show how this Cuisine holds it utter most importance in the
world of gourmet food.
