2 How is the CNS protected?
The brain is protected by the skull and the Spinal cord is
being protected by the vertebra of the spinal column.
3 What is the function of the forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain?
Fore brain: processes Sensory information, helps with
reasoning and problem solving.
Midbrain: Helps to regulate movement.
Hind brain: helps to regulate autonomic functions.
4 Give the main functions of different regions of the brain.
Cerebrum: Coordinates movement and regulates
temperature
Hypothalamus: helps in releasing hormones and regulating
body
temperature.
Frontal lobe: Controls reasoning
5 Describe the organization of the PNS.
The peripheral nervous system is organized in this way. It
consists of sensory neurons, then clusters of neurons called
ganglia, and then nerves which connect them to each other
and then to the central nervous system.
