DETAILED LESSON PLAN FOR K-12 CURRICULUM SCIENCE GRADE 2 February 18, 2021 I. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to: A. (The teacher will let the student read) Deaf Blind Students: Eyes, Nose, Mouth, shoulders, arms, feet, hands, neck, thigh, elbow, stomach. Student: Deaf is lacking the power of hearing or having impaired hearing. Student: Blind is unable to see because of injury, disease, or a congenital condition. Student: Darkness is the partial or total absence of light. Darkness Silence Famous Student: Silence is the complete absence of sound. Student: Famous is known about by many people. Motivation ( The teacher will show a picture) Student: An author is the creator or originator of any written work such as a book or play, and is also considered a writer. “Do you know who is in the picture?” “Alright listen and I will tell a story of Helen Keller.” (The teacher relates the story.) Students: “No Ma’am” Helen Keller (1880-1968) lived in a world of darkness and silence. She was blind and deaf. She could neither saw nor hear. Yet she became one of America’s most famous author and (The students will listen) lecturers. She had a very good teacher she is Mrs. Anne Sulivan. Mrs. Anna made Helen feel objects with one hand. The she traced the word for each object onto the palm of Helen’s hand. Comprehensions Questions: Who is Helen Keller? “Correct Mrs. Helen Keller is a blind and a deaf person but it doesn’t stop her to pursue her goals in life right? Helen Keller really did her best to learn even though she has an illness, by the help of her teacher who is very kind to her she became a successful person” What moral value did you get from the story? “Bravo! Helen Keller is a very good role model for us because she give us hope, even though we don’t have any illness there are still some possibilities for us to be a successful person in the future, Mrs. Anne Sulivan also open up naked eyes that we should help a person who is not capable of doing something, we should help each one another so that our brothers and sisters will bloom someday like the flowers in the garden. Presentation “This morning we will proceed to our main topic, are you all excited?” “We will learn about organs function on our senses but first I want you to read the following:” Student: “From the story Ma’am I’ve learn that even though if I have an illness if I’m just persistent enough to pursue my dream nothing is impossible!” “Yes Ma’am!” Students: “Yes Ma’am” Students: An organ is a self-contained group of tissues that performs a specific function in the body. The heart, liver, and stomach are examples of organs in humans. Organs “Very Good next” Functions Students: Functions is an activity or purpose natural to or intended for a person or thing. “Alright!” 2. Discussion “Everyone, what is in the picture?” Students: “Five Senses Ma’am” Students: “ Sense of sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell” “Yes Ma’am!” Students: Yes Ma’am “What are those five senses?” “Excellence! Humans have five basic senses: touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste. The sensing organs associated with each sense send information to the brain to help us understand and perceive the world around us. People also have other senses in addition to the basic five. Now I want you to watch this video and be serious about it because later on I will ask you some questions, do you understand?” (The teacher will show a video about the fives sense and their functions) (After 7 minutes the teacher will discuss more about the 5 senses) The Five Senses Sense of touch is a pressure, temperature, light touch, vibration, pain and other sensations are all part of the touch sense and are all attributed to different receptors in the skin. Sense of sight, or perceiving things through the eyes, is a complex process. It where you can see everything around us and that includes me right now. Sense of hearing is where you heard your mother’s sweet voice, the sound of your headphone right and the laughter of your friends here in online our class. Sense of smell is where you smell your favourite dish that being serve in front of you or the fragrance of your perfume right now.
