GEDCORE08 ART APPRECIATION Art Appreciation Abiility to see the beauty in art and understand the artist's message. Art appreciation is not just looking at a painting and thinking it's pretty. Assumptions of Art Three assumptions on art are its universality, its not being nature, and its need for experience. Without experience, there is no art. The artist has to be foremost, a perceiver who is directly in touch with art. Art Creativity, Imagination, and Expression 1. Creativity: The ability to produce an idea in a novel or new way. The expression of novel (new) approaches in stories and problem solving, or visual presentations. 2. Imagination: The ability to see objects, objectives and interest in things not readily seen or observed. Subject and Content in Art In general, subject may be thought of as the “what” in a piece of art: the topic, focus, or image. The most common subjects of art include people (portraiture), arrangements of objects (still-life), the natural world (landscape), and abstractions (non-objective). People in the Field of Arts "People in the Field of Arts" refers to individuals actively involved in various aspects of the arts industry, including artists, musicians, actors, writers, curators, educators, and more, who contribute to the creation, promotion, and appreciation of art in its many forms. LESSON STOOD OUT: ART CREATIVITY, IMAGINATION, AND EXPRESSION EXPLANATION: THIS LESSON STOOD OUT TO ME BECAUSE IT EMPHASIZES THE LIMITLESS POSSIBILITIES OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION. IT TAUGHT ME THAT ART IS NOT CONFINED BY RULES OR BOUNDARIES BUT IS A REFLECTION OF ONE'S IMAGINATION AND CREATIVITY. THIS RESONATES WITH MY OWN LIFE EXPERIENCES AS I'VE ALWAYS BELIEVED IN THE POWER OF CREATIVITY TO INSPIRE AND CONNECT PEOPLE.
