The two nights there cemented strong friendships among players from both sets of teams. Again the touring party shared in dance at the school Assembly and participated in “bush golf” down at the howick falls before showing great courage in two very hard matches, the girls only going down in the last 10 minutes as fatigue hit while the boys could not make their pressure count. After that it was back to the cost, moving into the beach flat lets on the South Coast at Indhlovu where the pupils were able to relax together and prepare for the final two matches against two strange teams from very large school. Only the final match was against a single – sex school and the elite teams performed gallantly in them. The differences in standards of umpiring in Zimbabwe and South Africa was evident. While the Zimbabwean umpire had to show yellow cards regularly to the local, the elite players showed great restraint and control.
