INTRODUCTION
• A smart parking system is an advanced technology-driven solution
designed to efficiently manage parking parking spaces in urban
areas.
• Traditional parking systems often face challenges such as limited
parking availability, congestion, and time wasted in finding a
parking spot. In response to these issues, smart parking systems
utilize various technologies and data-driven approaches to
streamline the parking process and enhance overall efficiency.

METHODOLOGY
• The Arduino board acts as the central control unit of the system. It receives
inputs from various sensors and controls the output devices accordingly.
• The NodeMCU is a small development board based on the ESP8266 Wi-Fi
module. It allows for wireless communication and enables the updating of
the associated mobile application.
• Infrared (IR) sensors are placed in each parking slot to detect the presence
of a vehicle.
• Servo motors are used to control the movement of the gates or barriers at
the entry and exit points of the parking area.
• LCD display shows the number of empty and filled slots, allowing drivers
to quickly identify available parking spaces.

RESULT
• Smart parking systems uses advanced
technologies such as sensors, data analytics,
and mobile applications to revolutionize the
way parking is managed.
• These systems provide real-time information
about parking space availability.
• With the help of sensors embedded in parking
lots, the system detects the occupancy status
of individual spaces and relays the
information.
• This data is then made accessible to drivers
via mobile apps enabling them to make
informed decisions about parking

FUTURE SCOPE
• The future scope of smart parking systems is promising and extensive. With the
rapid growth of urbanization and the increasing number of vehicles on the road,
efficient parking management becomes crucial.
• Smart parking systems provide real-time information about available parking
spots, enable reservation and payment through mobile apps, and streamline the
overall parking experience.
• Additionally, they can be integrated with smart city initiatives to improve traffic
flow, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance sustainability. As cities continue to
expand and prioritize smart infrastructure, the future of smart parking systems
holds tremendous potential for improving urban mobility, reducing parkingrelated stress.

improve the efficiency and convenience of parking.
• By integrating sensors, data analysis, and communication technologies, it aims to
address the challenges associated with parking, such as limited space, traffic
congestion, and wasted time.
• Overall, the smart parking system offers several benefits.
• It helps drivers locate available parking spaces in real-time, reducing the time and
effort spent searching for parking.
• This results in reduced traffic congestion, fuel consumption, and carbon
emissions. Additionally, the system can optimize parking space utilization,
maximizing the efficiency of parking facilities.
