It is the annual non-working national holiday commemorating the Philippine Declaration of independence from the colonizer (SPAIN) on June 12, 1898.On independence day, the sacrifices of the national heroes are remembered. The country’s sovereignty is appreciated. Educator were instilling nationalism in the learners. National and local officials are organizing programs and activities such parades, and stage programs nationwide. Purpose / Objectives: Independence Celebration aims to promote nationalism and patriotism toward the nation. It also aims to honor the bravery and sacrifices made by the soldiers and heroes who defended our country. It aims that the new generations of today and tomorrow will be motivated by the fortitude in battle and commitment to defend our nation made by the soldiers and heroes. Narrative Report: Araw ng Kalayaan or Day of Freedom also known as annual National Holiday in the Philippines observed on June 12, commemorating the Philippine Declaration of Independence from Spain on June 12, 1898. Since 1962, it has been the country’s National Day. The Department of education as one of the government agencies that promotes and inculcates young learners’ mind to continuously uphold the freedom we lived on for the past years, the department is annually commemorating this historic event through the schools by holding a program in celebration of Independence Day. So with this, Mabini Elementary School is yearly engaging this momentous event that show how important it is and how valuable all the sacrifices and the heroic deeds of Filipino heroes then to acquire freedom. Grade levels presented variety of talents such as a poem, singing of nationalistic song and a video presentation that brought back the innate love for our country and the freedom as well. It was fine day filled with heroism with high regard for our country and for all Filipino heroes then who sacrificed just to have freedom. Reflections: One of the most significant dates in the Philippine’s history is Independence Day because it marks the nation’s independence from the Spanish rule on June 12, 1898.
