IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by seetion 3 of t he Pub l ic
Holidays Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and N ati on al
A dministration declares M onday, 13th November, 2023, a public holiday
in w hich the public shall be engaged in tree growing countryw ide.
The exercise is part of Kenya’s Landscape and Ecosystem R estor ati o n
Programme- Towards the Growing of Fifteen (15) billion tr ees. T h er e w il l
be a designated National venue for the tree planting presided over by H is
Excellency (Dr.) William Samoei Ruto, PhD., C.G.H., the President o f the
Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, and
forty-seven (47) County venues, presided over by Cabinet Sec r etar i es and
Governors, w here all Kenyan citizens and the general publ ic shall be
expected to participate.
