ANY QUESTIONS SO FAR? ACTIVITY - Writing a Short Story Using Adverbs 1. Now, it's your turn to write your own short story using adverbs. Your story should be about 5 lines long and include adverbs to describe the actions or events. (Handwriting) 2. Start by thinking about a setting for your story. It could be a forest, a haunted house, a busy city street, or any other place you can imagine. 3. Next, think about a main character and what they might do in that setting. Use adverbs to describe how they move, feel, or react to things happening around them. 4. Write your short story, making sure to include adverbs in your sentences. Try to vary the placement of the adverbs to add interest to your writing. SAMPLES 1 “In the spooky forest, a brave explorer cautiously ventured deeper into the unknown territory. Suddenly, a loud noise echoed through the dense trees, causing her to quickly turn around. With a racing heart, she nervously searched for the source of the sound. Eventually, she spotted a mysterious figure lurking in the shadows.” SAMPLE 2 "In the bustling city, a young artist eagerly painted colorful murals on the graffiti-covered walls. Carefully, she skillfully blended vibrant hues to create stunning masterpieces. Suddenly, a gentle rain began to fall, washing away her hard work. Disappointed but undeterred, she patiently waited for the storm to pass before continuing her artistic journey."
