company based in South East Asia.
They are the second largest within their
category in the region.
While the client sells a wide variety of
items, they are particularly successful in
skincare and cosmetic products.
Their competitive pricing, robust logistics
model, and their constant endeavor to
improve customer experience have been
key in their growth story.

Over the years, the client has a built a
large database of its 3.5 MN+ customers.
Their database has over 1.5
addresses.

with their email address every week.
Which means the email list was growing
rapidly.
And for an e-commerce company, email
is one of the most important channels to
engage customers.
But things weren’t going too good …

after they signed up. Emails sent to them
bounced undelivered.
Email bounce rate: 9.4%. And
rising.
Some existing customers were not
receiving promotional offers.

entered an email address in the sign-up
form, the system would immediately
verify the email.
Only verified, safe-to-send emails were
captured during the process.
If the email address was found to be
invalid, an error message was flashed to
the subscriber before they left. This let
them re-submit a correct email address.

bounce rate.
The bounce rate fell from
9.4% to 0.8%.
But that’s not all.
Open rates grew 1.9X.
