Title: Nodal Analysis Using Multisim
Objectives:
1. To measure the voltage in each node in the circuit (using nodal analysis).
2. To verify that the calculated theoretical values are almost identical (using multisim.).
3. To verify the result (using manual calculation)
Apparatus/Devices:
Laptop/ Computer
Multisim
Introduction: (Theory)
A nodal analysis is defined as a set of circuit branches that is formed together from a
node, but does not encompass any other of the circuit branches. Ohm's law and Kirchhoff’s
voltage law are used in the analysis to look at the formation of communication links between
various points on a circuit board. It signifies isolating the circuit board nodes, locating the
voltage charges that are opposite to each other, and substituting values into equations to address
the problem of the unknown voltage across each node. The voltage that approaching on the
resistor and the nodal analysis are two of the many techniques used to analyze electrical voltage.
Procedure:
•
Begin in finding the voltages in the resistors by formulating and equation using nodal
analysis.
•
Afterwards verify the results using multisim
•
Open the application Multisim in the computer
•
Start making the circuit diagram that is given at task.
•
Input the values in the diagram such as the resistors and voltages and the ground
•
Start simulating the circuit diagram
•
Measure/test the resistors to find the voltages in each of them and the totality of it.

Observation: (base on the objectives)
We have observed that the circuit composed of three nodes with 1 voltage source, 2
current source and 6 resistors and we identify it using nodal analysis. We calculate it and so far
we get 3 equations and by using matrix to get the approximate value of the 3 nodes. We test it
using multisim software to verify the value of each node and to compare our manual calculation
to the multisim result of each node.
Analysis: (base on the output and observations.)
The process of determining the unknown values of the three voltages in the circuit offers
three distinct approaches for resolution. One method involves utilizing Multisim, using
simulation that allows you to solved it automatically, providing insights into the voltage values.
Alternately, a multimeter can be employed, enabling direct measurements of the voltages at
various points within the circuit. Lastly, manual calculations based on the principles of circuit
analysis. These three approaches cater to different preferences and scenarios allowing for
flexibility in determining the circuits voltage values. In conclusion, the process of finding the
unknown value of the three voltages in the circuit can be solved in three different ways which is
multisim (simulate and multimeter) and manual calculation.
