Students are expected to be in the examination hall 15 minutes before the start time of the examination. 2. Students must wear a complete school uniform and ID during the examination. 3. No toilet break is allowed during the duration of the examination. 4. Communication is only allowed between student and teacher. 5. No hat, headsets, headscarf, headband, sunglasses, and smart watches is allowed to be worn during the examination period unless for religious purposes. Mobile phones are also not allowed to be brought into the examination hall. 6. Write your full name and class in the spaces on the front page. 7. All answers must be written in the question paper. 8. Use black or dark blue pencil only. No correction tape/fluid is allowed. 9. Write your answer to each question in the space provided. 10. For Mathematics, the student should show all the workings in the question paper. 11. The invigilator will give you a 10-minute warning before the paper ends. 12. Check your answers thoroughly before time is up. 13. The student may leave the examination hall only upon the instruction of your invigilator. Appendix D - Absence from Examination Policy Absence from Preliminary Examination Oral Assessment 1. A student will be allowed to sit for the oral assessment if he/she was absent from within a week of the actual assessment date and before the start of the written papers. 2. Should he/she miss the grace period for the make-up exam, it would be considered that the student was absent from the paper and would be given zero (0) mark for the oral assessment. 3. Any absence will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Chief Presiding Examiner, in consultation with the Dean, in order to qualify for a make-up exam. Written paper 1. A pupil who is absent from the written papers has to submit a medical certificate (original) to be excused from the assessment with valid reason marked as ‘VR’ in the report card. The medical certificate must be submitted together with the Absence from Examination form within 3 days from the date of absence. Otherwise, he/she will be awarded a zero (0) mark for the paper(s) he/she is absent for. 2. For Preliminary Examination, pupils will not be allowed to re-sit for any of the written papers in case of absence in the examinations. 3. Pupils are required to be punctual for all papers. Pupils who arrive after the start of the paper will not be given extra time. 4. The schedule for the preliminary examination periods must be strictly adhered to (e.g. break time and dismissal time). Any infringement by the pupil will be managed as a disciplinary case. 5. A pupil who has been caught cheating for a paper will be given zero (0) mark for the paper.
