Ready for your first mission? Let's get started. #1: A quiet and comfortable workspace A comfortable and quiet workspace can help you focus and be more productive. Love music? Relaxing study music can also help in focusing. Avoid working beside your bed. Otherwise, that will make you sleepy during work hours. #2: A PC/Laptop with writing software Worried that you don’t own one yet? No problem! A second-hand laptop/PC can already come in handy. Facebook also has a lot of job board groups you can join to look for potential clients. And don't forget to put your best photo in your profile! #4: A professional online profile Aside from social media platforms, it will also be easy for you to look for clients and for clients to find you if you have an online professional profile. Here are recommended platforms for your professional profile: ✅ OnlineJobs.ph ✅ Upwork ✅ LinkedIn A professional online profile will showcase your portfolio, skills, and experience in the freelance marketplace. #5: Video conferencing platforms In cases you cannot meet face to face (especially with international clients), platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, and Microsoft Teams are used for work meetings with clients. Professional emails can help separate personal emails from work emails that go in and out of your inboxes. #8: Portfolio with sample works Your portfolio and sample work help you showcase your best work and demonstrate your writing skills across different industries and formats. But don't worry if you don't have this yet! Some clients let you do sample work for them to see if you're a fit for their company. You can build a collection of sample works from your job applications. #9: A freelancing contract Most of the time, the freelancing world can take dark turns, so be vigilant. A freelancing contract is crucial for freelancers to avoid exploitation and scams. Platforms like PayPal are the go-to app of freelancers when transacting with international clients because of its invoicing feature. #12: The determination and willingness to learn & grow Having the determination and willingness to be open to new things will help you succeed as a freelance copywriter.
