You and your partner(s) will be assigned a specific cell signaling topic below. Each of these biological processes will involve many steps which incorporate cell signaling. You will be tasked with making an informative poster that meets the following requirements: FORMAT A descriptive title The poster includes LABELED IMAGES that help to explain the concept. These images can be hand drawn or made with construction paper. You may not print and attach images from the internet. You may however hand draw diagrams on a device and print them at home. The poster includes text that helps to explain the concept. Brief bullet points are preferred over long passages. Points will be deducted if the poster is too wordy. Name of poster creators somewhere at the bottom. A list of sources on a separate page cited in MLA. CONTENT The poster explains which specific cell type(s) do the process. The poster explains the overall process in full. The poster explains the general type(s) of ligands (steroid hormone, peptide hormone, gas molecule, etc) and receptors (g-protein coupled receptors, ligand gated ion channels, voltage gated ion channels, etc) that are involved. The poster explains if the process involves autocrine, paracrine, juxtracrine, endocrine, environmental, or a combination of more than one type of signaling. The poster explains how the environment influences the process. The poster fully explains at least one entire signaling transduction pathway involved in the process including: o specific examples of a ligand(s) within that type that are involved in the pathway o Specific receptor(s) within that type that are involved in the pathway o Specific secondary messenger(s) and relay molecule(s) that are involved in the transduction and amplification of the signal o Response(s) that the signal may elicit in various cell types. o Causes of disruptions in the pathway and the impact of those disruptions on a cellular response *NOTE: You need only explain one cell signaling pathway in detail but must explain the overall process in full. You will be assigned a topic below at random: A) B) C) D) E) F) G) H) I) J) K) L) Synaptic Signaling, Action Potential, and Neuronal Firing Reception of Visual Signals (Excluding Perception) Reception of Auditory Signals (Excluding Perception) Reception of Gustatory Signals (Excluding Perception) Reception of Olfactory Signals (Excluding Perception) Reception of Tactile Signals or Pain (Excluding Perception) Immune Response to a Pathogen Regulation of Glucose Metabolism Inflammatory Response Apoptosis Regulation of Cell Differentiation During Fetal Development Regulation of Growth
