VILLAGE HOUSE - DAY
Farida, a middle-aged woman in a bright saree, sits by the window of her cozy village house. She looks
outside, watching what's happening in the village. The smell of curry floats in the air.
Farida: Naima, come quick! You won't believe what's going on outside!
Naima, a younger woman with a basket, walks down the dusty road. She comes to Farida's house,
curious.
Naima: What's all the excitement, Farida?
Farida: Look there, by the banyan tree! They're getting ready for the village fair.
Naima: Already? I thought it was next month!
Farida: They changed it this year. Something about a good harvest. You know how much everyone loves
a celebration.
Naima: So true. Oh, about celebrations, did you hear about Aisha's wedding?
Farida: Aisha is getting married? That's great news! When's the big day?
Naima: Next week! The whole village is busy preparing. I saw the decorators this morning.
Farida: It feels like just yesterday when Aisha was playing in the fields. Time flies, doesn't it?
Naima: Absolutely. And you know what's changing? The new school is near the pond. Kids won't have to
walk to the next village anymore.
Farida: That's fantastic! Our kids deserve a proper school. It'll make life easier for everyone.
Naima: Totally. Oh, before I forget, did you get the invitation to the Pohela Boishakh celebration at the
community center?
Farida: Invitation? I might have... oh yes, it's on the table. I almost forgot with all the commotion. Are
you going?
Naima: Wouldn't miss it! The music, the food, the colorful fun – it's always a blast. We should go
together.
Farida: Sounds good. Now, let's finish our chores quickly. So much to look forward to!
The two friends share a warm smile as they continue chatting about the upcoming events, their bond
strengthened by the shared joys of their close-knit village in Bangladesh.
