*or all applications made on or a*ter that date *or the purposes stated on this page
and listed in section 4.

under Part 8 o* the Immigration Rules you MUST NOT apply using this *orm. I* you
have not had leave under one o* these categories and apply using this *orm you will
be re*used indefnite leave to remain under the Immigration Rules.

How can you pay?

You may include children under the age o* 18 i* they
are applying as your dependants. But they must pay

Children aged 18 or over may not be included.
They must apply individually and pay the speci*ied
*ee in each case.

Cheques and postal orders
You must make the cheque or postal order payable
to Home O**ice Leave to Remain and cross the
cheque or postal order(s) A/C Payee only.
Write the *ull name, nationality and date o* birth
o* the main applicant on the back o* each cheque
and/or each postal order and keep the postal order
stub(s).
Make sure that the date and the amount (words
and *igures) are correct and that the cheque is
signed properly.

Biometric enrolment fee
As part o* your application you are required to enrol
your biometric in*ormation. You will be charged an
additional handling *ee *or this service, payable to
the Post O**ice Ltd. You must pay the *ee by cash
or debit card when you attend Post O**ice Ltd to
enrol your biometrics. Each dependant included on
your application must also pay this *ee when they
enrol their biometric in*ormation. Do not send the
biometric enrolment *ee with your application *ee.

Please note that when making large or multiple payments using your credit card, the anti-*raud measures that
banks operate sometimes stop the *ull payment being taken.
This can happen *or a number o* reasons. To prevent this
you may in*orm your bank o* your intention to make large or
multiple payments in advance so that your bank allows the *ull
payment to be taken when you submit your application.

DEFINITIONS
For the purposes o* answering questions 9.5 to 9.10, the *ollowing in*ormation provides guidance on actions
which may constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, or terrorist activities.
This guidance is not exhaustive. The *ull de*initions o* war crimes, crimes against humanity and
genocide can be *ound in Schedule 8 o* the International Criminal Court Act 2001 at www.opsi.gov.uk/
acts/acts2001/20010017 or purchased *rom The Stationery O**ice (telephone 0870 600 5522). It is your
responsibility to satis*y yoursel* that you are *amiliar with the de*initions and can answer the questions
accurately on behal* o* yoursel* and any dependants who are applying with you.
War crimes
Grave breaches o* the Geneva Conventions committed during an armed con*lict. This includes an internal
armed con*lict and an international armed con*lict. The types o* acts that may constitute a war crime
include wil*ul killing, torture, extensive destruction o* property not justi*ied by military necessity, unlaw*ul
deportation, the intentional targeting o* civilians and the taking o* hostages.
Crimes against humanity
Acts committed at any time (not just during armed con*lict) as part o* a widespread or systematic attack,
directed against any civilian population with knowledge o* the attack. This would include o**ences such as
murder, torture, rape, severe deprivation o* liberty in violation o* *undamental rules o* international law and
en*orced disappearance o* persons.
Genocide
Acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.
Terrorist activities
Any act committed, or the threat o* action, designed to in*luence a government or intimidate the public and
made *or the
purposes o* advancing a political, religious or ideological cause and that involves serious violence against a
person; that may endanger another person’s li*e; creates a serious risk to the health or sa*ety o* the public;
involves serious damage to property; is designed to seriously disrupt or inter*ere with an electronic system.
Organisations concerned in terrorism
An organisation is concerned in terrorism i* it commits or participates in acts o* terrorism; prepares *or
terrorism; promotes or encourages terrorism (including the unlaw*ul glori*ication o* terrorism); or is otherwise
concerned in terrorism.
