1. Laboratory rooms may be opened only for use of students when the instructor is around. 2. Experiments to be performed should only be those which are prescribed by the instructors. 3. Report all incidents met during experiments to the concerned instructor. 4. Use a clean and dry spatula in getting chemicals from the reagent bottle to avoid waste. 5. During an experiment, get enough amount of chemicals needed only. 6. Do not return any unused chemicals to the reagent bottle unless directed by the instructor. 7. Keep reagent bottle covered. When in use, place the lid upside down. 8. Present the ID in borrowing the equipment. 9. Handle and use all equipment with care. In case of doubt, ask the instructor to guide you. 10. Clean and dry all the laboratory equipment before returning them to the laboratory storage room/stock room. 11. Flush liquid waste to the sink with an ample amount of water. 12. Liquid waste with strong or toxic vapors must be poured down the drain under the fume hood. 13. Throw bits of paper, match sticks and other solid waste on the bin / trash can. 14. Eating, drinking, smoking and playing are prohibited. 15. Always clean the work area before leaving the laboratory.
