Republic of the Philippines Department of Education National Capital Region Schools Division Office-MALABON CITY DAMPALIT INTEGRATED SCHOOL RODRIGUEZ SUBDIVISION, DAMPALIT MALABON CITY NARRATIVE REPORT GAD Training on Adolescent Reproductive Health Comprehensive Sexuality Education for selected DIS Parents November 24, 2023 Recognizing the roles and responsibilities of the school system to provide learners their right to good health, the school conducted a training seminar intended for selected parents to establish a common understanding of ARH key concepts and messages and ensure a clear implementation of ARH protocols at Dampalit IS. Adolescent Reproductive Health Program aims to strengthen DepEd's mandate under Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Act of 2012 (R.A. No. 10354). The policy aims to enhance the holistic wellness of the Filipino adolescents and effectively address their needs for health and protection through education by ensuring that they are equipped with comprehensive information and appropriate life skills that can advance gender equality and empowerment, clarify their values and attitude, and reduce risks related to poor health outcomes – thereby enabling them to achieve their full potential. The session begins with a puzzle activity where everybody actively engaged. The speakers were able to increase the level of knowledge about ARH among parents-participants in the session. A group activity sharing was conducted to let the participants collaborate with each other and learn from one another. The training about ARH has made them realize how critical is their their child’s health, wellbeing, and dignity in relation to their risky behaviors.
