JOB DESCRIPTION Our Purpose: To enrich lives and connect people through positive experiences to build strong communities Our Values: Enjoyment, Respect, Collaboration, Inclusive, Ambition Our Culture: We promote and celebrate a culture of equality, diversity, inclusion and respect for all people JOB TITLE National Teams Sports Scientist POSITION TYPE Fixed Term / Full time REPORTS TO Head of Sports Science DIRECT REPORTS Nil LOCATION Auckland DATE LAST REVIEWED October 2022 OVERALL PURPOSE To deliver the Sports Science programme across NZF’s national teams and programmes KEY RESPONSIBILITIES National teams sports science programme • To work with the GM High Performance and the Head of Sport Science to deliver the sport science needs of the programmes as required • To travel overseas with national teams where necessary and implement agreed sports science aspects, eg GPS, S&C, nutrition, hydration and other protocols. • To implement periodised programmes in conjunction with team leads (including testing, monitoring and individual performance plans). • To create and implement a feedback mechanism with players’ clubs to ensure transparent reporting of sports science matters (eg post-tour reporting). • To ensure sport science interns’ compliance with standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality of sport science provision across teams. • To ensure that all sport science information is saved to the central database. • To create relationships with key external organisations that will add value to the sport science programme. • To ensure that all intellectual property is appropriately stored at NZF, and on NZF electronic filing systems, at all times and is up to date. To assist NZF’s medical team in the following areas: • Monitoring of injuries in liaison with other medical personnel • Ordering of medical supplies • Ordering of supplements 1 JOB DESCRIPTION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Recording of batch numbers for supplements • Ordering, administration and storage of physio and sports science equipment Health and Safety Comply with all workplace health and safety obligations by meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act and NZF’s health and safety policy.
