21ST CENTURY CAREER ENHANCEMENT -ANNA LORRAINE TAMAYO New normal challenges such as virtual classroom management and new technological trends give opportunities for us to have Career Enhancement programs. Career Enhancement Program is the process of choosing a career, improving our skills, and advancing along a career path. It is a lifelong process of learning and decision-making that brings us closer to our ideal job, skillset, and lifestyle. This is very important in setting career goals for skill improvement, aiming for promotions, advancing our work, and showing upper management our work principles. There are guides in career enhancement namely: selfassessment, obtaining a professional certificate or degree, learning other skills, taking constructive feedback, improving performance metrics, developing your communication skills, expanding linkages, volunteering for a new task and exploring, working well in a team, grabbing opportunities. A career enhancement program is a win-win situation for employers and employees. The plan focuses on the employee’s need for growth and development and the assistance that the organization can provide so that employee has the opportunity to grow his/her career. In addition, employees are also interested in developing themselves both personally and professionally. For us teachers, we should never close the door to opportunities, always welcome the challenges, develop a timeline, compete with others, and be innovative. Administrators also, have to carry out a specific career enhancement program, plan for everyone’s success, share goals with everyone, sharpen people’s skills, build a reputation, and manage and monitor.
