One-Pager Project – Play Analysis
What is it? A one pager is a single-page response to your reading that connects the ideas in the play to your thoughts creatively.
The purpose of the one-pager is so that your audience will understand the big ideas, themes, and connections within the play.
Must do:
1. Title and border (5 points)
○ Write the title of the book and author’s name somewhere on the page (this should be done creatively!).
○ Include a border that reflects one of the overall themes of the play. This can include words, pictures, symbols,
and/or quotes from the text.
2. Two meaningful questions with answers (20 points)
○ These should not be yes or no questions, but how or why questions.
○ Answers should cite text evidence with documentation from the text (Author Line #).
3. Draw images (15 points)
○ Draw THREE images that represent themes, characters, or the central conflict of the play.
○ These should be strongly connected to the book and should stand out.
4. Interesting quotes (20 points)
○ Include two (properly documented) interesting quotes and why you think they are important.
Hint: What do they reveal about the character, theme, conflict, etc.
○ Make sure to include the character/characters name(s) who were speaking in the play.
5. Text opinion (ON THE BACK) (10 points)
○ In five to seven sentences add what your overall opinion of the play is and what you would say if you were to
recommend this play (or not) to a fellow student.
○ This, along with your name and class period, is the ONLY aspect to go on the back of your paper.
