Experiment (1) Student name: Nancy Abu Zainah Student number: 32215344016 ⃝ There are some important pictograms on chemical bottles that are used in laboratories:- FLAMMABLE EXPLOSIVE GANGEROUS TO HARMFUL/IRRITENT TOXIC CORROSIVE RADIOACTIVE THE ENVIRONMENT ⃝There are volumetric glassware which used to measure volume:1) The volumetric Flask It’s used to prepare solutions with a specific concentration for it. 2) Graduated cylinder It’s used to measure the volume of liquids. OXIDIZING 3) Pipette It’s used to dispense small quantities of liquids. 4) Burette It’s used to measure volumes and its one of the most accurate glassware. ⃝Balances at labs are two types:1) Top-loading balance: (with accuracy ± 0.01) 2) Analytical balance: (with accuracy ± 0.0001)which is more accurate than the top loading. Here are some tips for using any kind of these balances →first ,after choosing the correct container for balancing, zero the balance by using the tare button and then you can transfer your chemical in to the container to balance it (don’t forget to remove any spilled materials immediately and to not return any access back in to the original container). ⃝Bunsen burner: it is consider as a heating tool and it could flame two kinds of flames→ 1) the yellow flame with incomplete combustion so that this is not the right kind of flame that we should use → 2) the blue flame with complete combustion and a higher temperature than the yellow flame that’s why it’s the correct one to use.
