Chinese-style Child-rearing
The way of parents rearing children, which will produce a great impact on
children’s whole life. The Chinese development is so quick, including Chinese
education. This essay will evaluate child-rearing practices in China from three
aspects, Children’s study, encouragement and expenditure.
First of all, Chinese parents are very concerned about their children’s study
achievement. For every test, the parents will ask for the result. Not only that, but
they also will sign the name and write some comments. Every day, parents will use a
little time to check children’s homework. Check they whether finish the homework,
also find the wrong answer. If the children are in primary school, the parents also
need to sign in a book which records all homework together. What is more, the other
way for parents to care about their children’s studies is to communicate with the
teacher. They often ask teachers about the study situation, class expression and the
rank of class on Wechat, or they go to the teacher’s office directly. The reason why
parents so care about their children’s achievement is that they think the results can
show the children’s achievement. Also, the entrance of college examination is too
intense, parents want to supervise them study more so that they can get a good
grade in entrance of college examination and go to a good college.
Although the parents are serious about their children’s studies, they also give
lots of encouragement. For example, if the children get a great result in a test,
parents will take them to eat in a restaurant, or make them travel, or give them
something that children want. In this way, the children will have more motive power
to study. What’s more, it can develop children’s confidence. The encouragement of
parents is so important. Actually, in early China, the parents did not give any
encouragement to their children, maybe they were shy to say that, or they were poot
to give children rewards. Compared with before, the parents now are doing better.
This benefits from China's development.
In addition to study and encouragement, the parents now are expending more
on their children. In some cities, if children want to go to a good primary school and
middle school, the government needs you to buy a house near the school, so that
the school will allow the children to study here. However, the price of the house is
too expensive in recent years. Maybe more than 4 or 5 million yuan. For some
normal families, it is a huge expense. Although it is too expensive, the parents still
will try their best to buy the house, even can borrow money from bank or relatives.
Therefore, their children can go to a good school to get a better education. What is
more, the parents will also send their children to extra classes outside the school,
and it is also very expensive, maybe to learn playing the instrument, learning
something can help their school study so that their children can develop in an allaround way.
The child-rearing of China is getting better and better, more committed to the
comprehensive cultivation of children. The new generation will be better and better
to build a beautiful motherland.
