Osmania University
College Of Law
The faculty of law, OU has a glorious history of
more than 100 years. The "Law class" was
started in the year 1899 to instruct Law to the
students desirous of joining legal profession
along with "Judicial Test" classes for Judicial
Officers. Thus teaching of Law was in existence
even before Osmania University came into
existence in the year 1918.
The University College of Law Was
Inaugurated in 1960 by then Hon'ble Chief
Justice of India Shri. B.P. Sinha, Prof.G.C.V.
Subba Rao was the First Principal of the
College. The LL.M Courses Were Shifted to the
University College of Law in the Same Year.
Eight Branches of LLM Courses are
International Trade and Economic Laws,
Intellectual Property Rights, Alternative
Dispute Resolution, Labour and Employment
Laws, Corporate and Securities Laws,
Constitutional Law, Criminology Criminal
Science and Human Rights and Social Justice.
Three Diploma Courses are Cyber Laws,
Insurance and Taxation Laws
Insolvency.
At present, the sanctioned strength in LLB is
120, 60 seats for LLB three year and 60 seats for
five year LLB course. The Faculty of Law
introduced the Ph.D. Programme and first
batch of Ph.D. students were registered in the
year 1978. The Ph.D. Programme is offered in
regular and self finance program basis. So far
100 Scholars have been conferred Ph.D Degree
in Law by the University so far.

About the Fest
DUCIMUS is a latin term , meaning WE LEAD.
The University College of Law has been
conducting this two day fest for the last 12 years.
The fest strives to provide a platform for students
to interact and build a network for the future.
One of its kind, the fest hosted by the University
College of Law aims to bring law students across
the state to showcase their talents in literary and
cultural events. This event will be graced by
distinguished personalities from across the State.
