Question 5
Question
Answer
5.1
Paragraph:
Intro:
The Keboes farms are found in the dry
Northern Cape and due to the dryness
there, the lack of skills amongst the
workers and unfair prices for their fruit,
the farms were not as successful as they
could be.
Body:
When the Keboes farmers joined
Fairtrade they received a lot of much
needed help: a fair price for the fruit that
covered the costs of producing it, a more
constant demand for the fruit as
Fairtrade helps to export it for the
European winter; training so that all the
workers are better able to carry out their
jobs, and various community projects
involving schooling, sporting amenities
and improved health care.
Conclusion:
Belonging to Fairtrade has had a very
positive impact on the Keboes farms
because they practice fair trade which
improves the lives of the whole
community in many different ways.
