Welcome to the campaign setting of "Echoes of Ascendancy," a thrilling
adventure in the Ironsworn Starforged universe. In this setting, you will explore a
world where a planet devastated by calamity tries to put the pieces back together as a
new peace movement rises to challenge the established order. As you delve into the
mysteries of this fractured world, you must uncover some hard truths and decide the
fate of a civilization on the brink of profound transformation.
Setting Overview
"Echoes of Ascendancy" takes place in the distant future on the planet Nova
Prime in the Forge Galaxy. A world embroiled in political in-fighting, assassinations
were not uncommon as various factions sought to establish control of the distant
planet. Coups, juntas, and corporate takeovers were commonplace. This all came to an
end with the cataclysmic event known as the Great Sundering, which fractured the
surface and decimated much of the population. In the aftermath, the survivors rebuilt
their civilization with the aid of advanced technology, including the sentient AI
construct known as Luminara.
However, the peace that followed the Great Sundering is now being threatened
by a political movement known as the Harmonic Accord. Adherents of the mysterious
AI consciousness known simply as "The Ascendant" they advocate for unity, equality,
and the eradication of violence, and have gained widespread support among the
populace.
Seeking to overthrow the social order that they believe led to the Great
Sundering, they have called for the deactivation of Luminara and the installation of
the Ascendant in its place.

Raids on the supply lines to Nexus City, the seat of power on Nova Prime, have
left the city’s resources stretched thin and have hindered Luminara’s attempts at
reconstruction. While there is no evidence linking Harmonic Accord they have been
quick to use them to their advantage, drawing the most desperate in society into their
fold

Nexus City: Once the sprawling capital of Nova Prime, Nexus City was a beacon of
technological advancement and cultural diversity. However, the Great Sundering left
its mark, shattering the city into numerous fragmented districts. Each district now
operates independently, struggling for resources and power amidst the ruins. Factions

within Nexus City include the Tech Syndicate, a group of scientists and engineers
striving to rebuild, and the Ravagers, a ruthless gang that exploits the chaos.
The Underbelly: The Underbelly was a metropolis known for its thriving arts and
entertainment industry. However, the cataclysm caused a massive underground
collapse, plunging the city into darkness and chaos. The survivors now reside in a vast
network of tunnels and caverns beneath the surface. Factions within Shadowreach
include the Silent Brotherhood, skilled infiltrators and spies, and the Luminary Circle,
a group of artists and scholars seeking to preserve culture in the darkness.
