ARE HOMEWORKS FOR STUDENTS ARE IMPORTANT? (DISAGREE SIDE) ARGUMENT NO.1 The reason why I’ve stated that homeworks and assignments are meaningless and useless, it’s because once students receives assignments, and homeworks at home, it can be easily answered by students searching for the answers in textbooks and in the internet. It provides no educational benefits, if it can be easily be answered through textbooks and in the internet ARGUMENT NO.2 Here in the Philippines, students had to take classes for about 8-9 hours a day, that’s enough time for students to learn, and study through school, comparing to other countries that have lesser hours in school. The schools should not give students more homework, once they reach home, because they don’t have enough time for personal necessities, which makes students even more stress. ARGUMENT NO.3 One of the fact that homework should be banned is that, it causes high stress levels for us students. ARGUMENT NO.4 Let’s talk about to those students that always aim for high grades, they are more particular at risk for stress- related health issues including sleep deprivation, weight loss, stomach problems and headaches, that is because we all know that some academic achievers always put their homeworks or always think about the outcome of their grades than to their health. ARGUMENT NO.5 Students can also commit suicide because of the pressure of answering their homeworks, just like what happened from china, two teens commited suicide over their unfinished homework, because one of the main reason of this is because of stress, giving them homeworks can always lead to amxiety and stress, students should rest or make time for theirselves when they got home from school. ARGUMENT NO.5 Homeworks isn’t healthy in every home; not all homes provide a healthy environment, and there may be very little investment from parents. Some parents do not provide any kind of support or homework help, and even if they would like to, due to personal barriers, they sometimes cannot. ARGUMENT NO.6 Homeworks are not always effective, why? Because, research by John Hattie, Professor of education at the University of Melbourne, has found out that homework in primary school has an EFFECT OF A GROUND ZERO, as students are completing separate and unrelated projects rather than reinforcing learnt knowledge. ARGUMENT NO.8 This is always been a fact that the human brain has a 100% functionality every morning, and it all drains out like around evening, or after a job, or after school, so does the school expect students to do homeworks even though that we are all drained out? Because obviously that’s a big NO. ARGUMENT N0.9 “If school is not a place to sleep, home should not be a place to do schoolworks either” So this is the line I often hear and some of them will say that “school in the first place should be a place that we can learn not to sleep” Ok so here’s the thing, we all have been thought that each and everyone of us needs 8 hours of sleep, that’s the reason why there’s also a lot of students that are sleeping through classes or they are dozing off everywhere, that’s why we should have 8 hours of sleep, but sometimes students can’t do that just because of their unfinished homeworks, they often sacrifice their sleep just to finish their homeoworks, so if students have 8-9hours at school, they also need to have 8hours of complete sleep to refreshen our self, and we also need those personal necessities to flushen all out. ARGUMENT NO.10 Teachers often tells their students this line “applying your learning during discussion” then why don’t they just do it on the spot rather than giving it as a homeworks? It only adds the stress and burden to us students that need rest because of how exhausted to learn at school for about 8-9 hours.
