LESSON AIMS:
 To activate students’ vocabulary;
 To activate students’ prior knowledge related to the topic;
 To familiarize the students with the topic prior to initial read;
 To develop students’ reading for a purpose skill;
 To improve students’ paragraph writing;
 To offer the students practice in stating their opinion and providing arguments.
OBJECTIVES: by the end of the lesson the students will be able:
 To provide at least five characteristics of the opinion essay (useful phrases, linking words, sequencing, paragraph plan etc);
 To recognize an opinion essay;
 To support a position in a group discussion;
 To write the scheme for an opinion essay following the paragraph plan.
