lose points unnecessarily by being late or absent.
COURSE EXPECTATIONS
➢ Be punctual! Class begins promptly, so please considerate of others and arrive to class
prepared and on time. If you are late, get a late slip from the office, enter the class quietly, and
find out what you missed from a classmate.
➢ Please participate! Class participation means being prepared, attentive, and productive during
class. Your participation, attentiveness, and respectful attitude are expected and are also being
evaluated.
➢ Be respectful and considerate of others. Rudeness or inappropriate behaviour will not be
tolerated. Listen to the teacher and classmates when talking.
➢ Please do not use electronics during class, unless instructed by teacher.
➢ Assignments: there are no assignment re-submissions or extra credit work—do your best work
the first time.
➢ Cheating & plagiarism are unacceptable and a mark of “0” will be given to all parties involved.
Students are expected to do their own work. Consultation and collaboration are encouraged in
the research process but each student must produce their own finished product in their own
words. Plagiarism is both theft and fraud. It is theft in that one person is taking the work of
another, and it is fraud because that person is claiming that work as their own.
