Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) involve “the tight conjoining of and coordination between computational and physical resources” [Helen Gill, U.S. National Science Foundation] “Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are physical and engineered systems whose operations are monitored, coordinated, controlled and integrated by a computing and communication core.” Raj Rajkumar et al., 2010, “Cyber-Physical Systems: The Next Computing Revolution” “Orchestrating networked computational resources and physical systems.” Edward Lee, 2013, invited talk: “Cyber-Physical Systems: A Fundamental Intellectual Challenge” Pangun Park (CNU) 3/6 Course Objectives Some understanding of the current trends in mobile robots and real-time systems. Themes of the course: Control of Mobile Robots Real-time Systems How to Succeed in this Course Take advantage of the resources provided. Slide + Backboard Lecture slides are on the website before lecture. Print them out and take notes. Photograph is allowed!! Be active on the project. Pangun Park (CNU) 4/6 Course Administration Taught in English and most materials are in English!! Lecture Room: E3-306 / Lecture Hour: Thurs 7pm-10pm Course materials : lecture slides, exercise solutions, etc. Grading policy : Exam - 40% / Project-40% / Attitude-20 (Minimum Attendance 33.8/45, If you are below, then Fail. ) Pangun Park (CNU) 5/6 Project Outline 1 Person/Group, We start to build your own low cost robots by using Arduino. We must have “encoder” to locate itself. We build several differential drive robots. After we have it, we apply the multi-agent robot controls, reinforcement learning, etc. Bonus point if you submit a paper; Korean paper x 1.5, SCIE x 2 Example: Low-cost robots AlphaBot2 (https://www.eleparts.co.kr/goods/view?no=4238880), Turtle Kit (https://www.dfrobot.com/product-1225.html) Pangun Park (CNU) 6/6
