Statement of Purpose (SOP) Since childhood, I have been very passionate about Automotive Engineering which was the primary reason that motivated me to pursue mechanical engineering. Hence, with my advent in IIT Roorkee along with my avidity for Automotive engineering, I was selected for one of Automotive Groups in my campus. Though warned of the situation that was out of kilter for Automotive Industry in India, my strong passion for Automobiles kept me going, thereby, aspiring and yearning to be among the group of world-class engineers and designers. Also, with my sensitivity to environmental concerns, I decided to work in my field of interest coming up with sustainable development solutions and enthralled by Jaguar Land Rover’s one of the goals of Zero emissions along with a blend of world-class engineers, I ardently feel that JLR is the place that I aspired for till now. My short-term goals are strongly based on the dynamic ideology of comprehension, execution and finally evaluation. I strive to rigorously apply my knowledge to probe into opportunities for innovations in time-constrained intensive projects at JLR and come up with the results that are worth to be evaluated and are impactful. Being cognizant of the fact that tackling real-life problems where the "severity" of outcome is as high as 10 on the scale of 10, my mid-term goal will be JLR vehicles with the finest chassis/body structures with Zero accidents/failures and made with the application of innovative sustainable materials. The work that I did for the Team KNOx - the official off-road racing team of IIT Roorkeeserved as a stepping-stone to my goals. I worked as a technical member of the ComputerAided Engineering department of Team KNOx for two years wherein I optimized chassis (Chassis Report) of an All-Terrain Vehicle for its robustness, safety and weight which was eventually used to manufacture ATV for the BAJASAE 2019, Pithampur. Owing to the impactful augmentation of the chassis design, I was selected as CAE Head of the team for the academic year 2019-20. Apart from this, I completed an internship in my 2nd year in the company VE commercial vehicles, Pithampur, providing me with exposure to an automotive industry as well as hands-on experience with internal logistics of the assembly plant. Furthermore, to deepen my knowledge in Finite Element Analysis, I successfully completed another internship in summers of my 3rd year at Sorbonne University, Paris wherein I was supposed to study the fracture/failure process in a material (used in structure of Nuclear Reactor manufactured by French company Framatome) using finite element simulations (Report Sorbonne). With all passion and experience, I want to be part of JLR’s Dream to achieve “Destination Zero” and give my significant contribution in achieving it. Successful completion of the group, as well as independent projects, has imbued confidence in me to work in a team as well as independently maintaining requisite work discipline. With my sincere motives to serve enthusiastically automotive industry in the field of Chassis/Body engineering, I avidly believe that I can make a profound impact on JLR. 1
