Scholarship letter to Ashesi university .To whom it may concern; I was born in a very poor family and grew up seeing my mother as the one who took care of the house alone because my father was addicted to alcohol to an extreme degree, he was not at home even though we were eight children. In order to live, we needed the sweat of our mother through doing many small jobs including: Helping people, planting for people for a daily wage. If the Primary schools weren't free, I wouldn't have gone to school. I went to primary school and my mother struggled with only uniforms and notebooks until I finished primary school. When I reached high school, my mother could no longer give any support to pay for my school fees because in high school they pay more and uniforms and other requirements in secondary school are too expensive..That's when I went to live with my brother-in-law and my sister who is also the eldest in our house. That's how I had the opportunity to study high school at Gs Nyamata Catholique and I finished it and my brother-in-law paid for my school fees. The reason I am asking you for financial aid is that my family is not able to pay the cost of college and it is also beyond my brother-in-law's ability because he needs to help others who are behind me in schools. getting Ashesi financial aid is the best support that guides me on the way to reach my dreams such as studying and reaching as far as possible so that others look up to me because in our family they have no one to look up to except me. In high school, I led the business club and helped students with entrepreneurship lessons, but it was very difficult because my knowledge was limited. and also the more I taught entrepreneurship lessons in my club, I suddenly felt a love for business administration so I have a profound affection towards entrepreneurial studies not for personal gain but for the common good. Outside of my academic life, reading financial books and exercising allow me to improve my prioritization skills. Because of the way I have been dealing with my business club, it has inspired me to feel the desire to learn more about business . Without a doubt, I believe in having the opportunity to study Business administration at Ashesi University. would help me to know the situation and how one can live with those who do not share the same culture, language, country and so on.. and that will help me gain new knowledge from others who will be living in Ashesi campus. increasing knowledge at Ashesi university through meeting professors in college, brilliant students from different places, different countries and different cultures, is the best way to add to what I always dreamed of, like studying in a good place that provides quality knowledge more than that and continue to create good reasons for my brothers to continue to be inspired rather than losing confidence in learning. If I get a chance to get Ashesi scholarship, I will inspire those students from poor family background who are in the comfort zone and have lost hope in their studies, to continue fighting and leave their comfort zone of poverty and having this opportunity of being awarded this financial aid will create an influential guidance to the poor students who think that attending university, is for affluent. In fact, it is not as bad as learning at a place that is qualified for business. in addition to that; Studying business administration will undoubtedly help me in developing a large community that does not know much about business and financial intelligence. I agree and disagree at same time with those who mostly say that' The transition of something out of nothing ,does not require any agent'’ because as far as I am concerned , I humbly need support from Ashesi university to see myself in University ,have chance to study with you and starting my journey of what I mostly dreamed of” changing my poor family background to affluent family’’ in fact the foundation of Being affluent is the best education. Thank you for your time and consideration. yours sincerely RUTAYISIRE Celestin .
