Our market sizing is based on the analysis for estimating the number of Barbershops. For our
market size we are considering the Dubai as the area of study. So our analysis will be based on
the UAE population. We are also estimating the barber shops needed by the male populations.
For this process our framework will consider following steps.

Use research to found Dubai population

Find the percentage of male population

Calculate male population of Dubai

Research how many haircuts per person in a year

How many haircut one barber shop give in a year

Calculations to find out how many barbers shops are needed in Dubai
Dubai population stands at 3.64 Million as of November 2023. In 2023, the UAE’s urban
population is 8.91 million, and the rural population is 1.26 million1 (Dubai Government stats). In
this the percentage of gender is
Male percentage =68.58%
Female Percentage = 31.42%
so male population
=68.58%*3.64
=2.496 million males

Average Hair cut needed by a man = once every 4-6 week
2
So total hair cuts needed in a year we consider 9 hair cuts
Total hair cuts needed by all males = 2.496 million *9
=22.464 hair cuts / years
Now
Considering each barber do 10 hair cut per day and each shop has 4 barbers so total of 40 cuts in
a day
total in year =365*40
=14600 hair cuts in a year
Now shops needed = 22.464 / 14600
=1538 shops
So there is need for almost 1500 barber shops to meet the demand of male’s haircuts

Market Entry
Generally speaking we can say that Yes, opening a burger truck in Dubai Design District could
be a profitable business within 3 years. However the answer is not so simple as there are number
of factors that are involved in this. Let consider some of these factors.
Customer demand: There is a high demand for food trucks in Dubai, especially in areas with a
lot of foot traffic, such as Dubai Design District. However, it is important to note that there is
already one other burger restaurant in the area, so the new burger truck would need to be able to
differentiate itself from the competition.
Location: Dubai Design District is a trendy and upscale area with a lot of young professionals
and tourists. This is a good demographic for a burger truck, as these people are likely to be
willing to pay a premium for high-quality food.
Pricing: The burger truck would need to price its food competitively in order to attract
customers. However, it is also important to make sure that the profit margin is high enough to
cover the costs of running the business. So there is a need to balance between profit and cost also
need to be competitive with the already existing burger shop to attract customers.
Marketing: The burger truck would need to market itself effectively in order to reach its target
audience. This could involve using social media, handing out flyers, or participating in local
events.
Operating hours: The burger truck would be open 3 days during the week and 2 days during the
weekend from 3 pm to 10 pm. This is a good schedule for a food truck, as it captures both the
lunch and dinner crowds.
Here are some additional factors that could affect the profitability of the burger truck:

The quality of the food

The level of customer service

The cleanliness of the truck

The overall experience for the customer
If the burger truck can excel in all of these areas, then it has a good chance of being successful.
Considering all these facts we can say that there is a huge potential for profitability for a burger
truck in Dubai Design District. However, the business would need to be well-run and wellmarketed in order to be successful.
Market sizing
Our market sizing is based on the analysis for estimating the number of Uber rides. For our
market size we are considering the Dubai as the area of study. So our analysis will be based on
the UAE population. For this process our framework will consider following steps.

Assumption of rides per user per month

Calculating rides per day

Approximating the number of Uber users in Dubai

Calculate the number of rides in a day
Let say average user take 5 rides in a month
then it means each user take 4/30 rides per day
so rides per day =0.2 rides
now let say there are 0.2 million Uber users so total number of rides in a day
= 0.1 million *0.2
=20000 rides/ day
