Opening Ceremony Tamutetsu Cup SAD x MAD What is the Tamutetsu Cup about? ● ● ● ● Determining the best debate club Promoting healthy competition Improving as a debater Making friends Schedule Format The tournament will follow the North American Style. - 2-3 members per team - 20 minutes preparation time - 7-minute constructive speeches, 4-minute replies (7-7-4) - 4 rounds (+ 1 model debate) - 1 minute POI protection time (start & end of speech) - No POIs to reply. Please make sure you’ve read all 3 documents if you’re a judge, or the 2 documents aside from the judge manual if you’re a debater After each round is over, please come back to the main room for the next allocation and motion announcement. Allocations and motion announcements will also be sent to the LINE chat For iron-person teams (where first speaker does reply), the reply score will not be tabulated and therefore not ranked There will be 3 breakout rooms per debate room - Gov Prep, Opp Prep & the round room. a. After prep time is over, please leave your respective prep rooms and proceed to the round room for your debate b. Judges may deliberate in one of the prep rooms.
