DATA OF FOUR BLOCKS OF JAMTATA DISTRICT ACCORDING TO OECD
FRAMEWORK OF ECONOMIC WELLBEING
The OECD has played a prominent role in developing the notion of “multidimensional wellbeing” as a research, measurement and policy tool, through instruments such as the OECD
Well-being Framework, the OECD Framework for Policy Action on Inclusive Growth, the
Better Life Initiative and the New Approaches to Economic Challenges. The OECD Well-Being
Framework provides a key framework for understanding and measuring well-being and societal
progress “beyond GDP(https://www.oecd.org/wise/measuring-well-being-and-progress.htm
).Within this framework, Economic well-being is defined in terms of Income and Wealth, Work
and Job quality, Housing and Health, Knowledge and Skill, Environmental Quality, Subjective
Wellbeing, Safety, Work-life Balance, Social Connections and Civic Engagement.
A survey has been conducted in Narayanpur, Nala, Kundhit and Jamtara Block of Jamtara
district as a part of the project titled “Improving Economic Well-Being of Scheduled Tribe (ST)
Communities in Jamtara District of Jharkhand State using Game Theory and Operations
Research Techniques”. In order to understand the economic condition of the tribal people of
Jamtara district, various interventions and interactions between them have been closely
observed. On the basis of the survey, data has been collected from different villages of four
blocks of Jamtara district. To measure the various aspects of well-being (opinion, attitudes,
stress, happiness, job satisfaction, satisfaction in life, safety, social connection, emotional
aspect, parameters of health and parameters of tools required for farming) different types of
LIKERT SCALE (5-point, 7-point,10- point) are used. Tables of four blocks of Jamtara district
have been prepared on the parameter of economic wellbeing as per the OECD framework
which is mentioned below.
Data of 605 has been collected from the KUNDHIT block of Jamtara district i.e sample
size(n)=605. Out of these, there are some missing values. A table of the Kundhit block of
Jamtara district has been prepared on parameters of economic wellbeing as per OECD
framework mentioned below.
