Describe a specific example from your past experiences that demonstrates your commitment to community service or social causes During elementary when I was in Grade 6, I was the head of the Girl Scout council of our school. Our school was located in a rural type of area. Most younger kids in our school were distinguished as malnourished and some of them went to school with nothing but a broken pencil and a small number of pieces of paper, some were recycled papers, in their bags. Some of them don’t have backpacks but use sack bags as their school bag. What amazed me, was that some of these kids were excellent and hard-working in class and off school when we interacted with them around and outside the school. Since our school didn’t have much to be able to give at least a small help or assistance to these young kids, our council constructed a project proposal and presented it to our adviser which got approved not only by our adviser but also by our school principal. With that, we were able to acquire an approval note from our school principal seeking for donations. We reached out to different NGO’s and GO’s around our town to seek for a decent amount of help for the kids. Our council was able to have an adequate amount which we used to buy school supplies and some of the offices we sought help for promised to give goods and conduct a feeding program and free health check-ups. Some of them also pledged free vitamins and supplements for the kids who need them the most. The program was then successfully conducted with the help of everyone in the school, the NGO’s and GO’s, and the PTA Officials. No amount of amazement ever equated to what I and our council felt with the little move we made; we were able to gather people to lend a hand to those in need. Briefly re-tell one instance in your life where you were able to Lead, Follow, and Serve. When I reached junior high school and senior high school, I was often to always elected as the classroom president. I was tasked to lead the whole class in every activity and event our class had to attend. Beyond that, I served my classmates and advisers from a simple relaying of announcements up to assessing disputes inside the classroom. Being a classroom president and a student of our school, I am to abide by all rules our handbook implies. I am proud to say that I never had a bad record in our guidance office stating that I broke any rules written in our handbook.
