Gift Senyolo U22497634 1. Mr. Ron Clark decorated the classroom for the learners to create a good learning space. He established clear rules for the learners to follow so that they can be more disciplined and if they did not abide by them, they got real consequences. He interacted with the learners on a personal level and created a personal relationship with them by also gaining the learner’s trust through the family tree he made for the class and jumping rope. He provided extra classes for the learners, so they can keep up with work and improve their understanding. He created activities for them to do at home and this was to help them further improve on their learning areas. 2. He used rewards for good behaviour, for example, he gave out sweets to the learners for passing their test and encourage them to excel. He created a rap song so the learners remember information in a fun way. He drank Chocolate Milk every 15 seconds so that the learners can focus and he taught them at the same time. he used cards to help a learner learn maths. By using these techniques to better understand my knowledge of OPV and to put into practice the theories being taught in OPV. 3. To never give up on learners and to be patient with learners to create a stable environment for the learners and to create personal relationships with learners that will allow them to trust me and listen to my instructions. Teaches me as a student that the content they teach us at OPV can be put into practice and how it looks when it is put into practice. That understanding the background of learners can help u make a better connection with the learners and that’s what OPV teaches me. 4. The first resource he made use of was the books/textbooks as he distributed them around his class and for everyone. Mr. Clark also uses a DVD player and tv to teach history to the class which led to the lesson being fun, easier, and understandable for all. Even dough all of these resources were limited and there were some disadvantages areas but he managed to manipulate them and make them work for him and the learners. In this other case, he used cards to teach mathematics and calculations. 5. Since Mr Clark moved to the school he saw a disadvantaged school and learners but had faith and used the opportunity to show and improve their potential. He has never let the challenges the learners gave him such as, paper thrown at him, or swearing at him, even dough he was treated unfairly never gave up on them. He also went to each learner’s house to see the kind of environment they live in and how it influences their behaviour. Regardless of their background he saw potential in every individual, helped, taught, and created study methods to help them according to their weaknesses went even mile to those who needed extra lessons.
